Cafe Alert! | Alforno Restaurant Review

Brunch, dinner, pastries? They got you covered! Feeling lucky to be able to have a review on one of the coolest cafe located at heart of YYC Downtown dubbed to be a hidden instagrammable place that offers a “hippie vibe”.wp-image-567609050jpg.jpg
A gold door that serves as an  entrance will welcome you to satisfy your cravings. Anyone can stop by for a fresh cup of coffee, sumptuous brunch or for its huge variety of sumptuous dessert!

Our group chose this spot to sit and do some planning about our upcoming Europe trip (I can’t wait!). The place is very pleasant & cozy. It’s perfect for students who wish to have that learning environment or for office workers who want to have a break from those paper works. During our visit, we’ve seen a lot of elderly clients gathered in the elevated function hall so I guess they offer reservation for those who wishes to have a private gathering or party.

Their matcha latte is perfect for this cold winter! Its creamy consistency makes me want for more!

Lemon pie meringue is not what I expected. I thought it would be a sweet dessert but it was sour. I don’t know if it was good or bad but at least I know it came from natural ingredients. ( I would appreciate if the staff would inform us about that hehe)

Aside from pizza, I can say that cheesecakes are their forte. We came in late at night but I can still say that their cakes are still fresh. It does not have gooey consistency unlike some other cheesecakes I’ve tried before. It’s not too sweet nor too blunt.

What I love about this bakery is that there is plenty to choose from in the bakery case to eat in or take home.

Their interior boasts a minimalist bar, marble counter, instagrammable corner and wood paneling.

Over all, I loved the place not just because of its minimalist design. The ambiance made by friendly staff, a wide variety of sumptuous (mainly Italian) food, and satisfying desserts are to die for! Be sure to check this place out!

Show Us Your Pass! (Happy Canada 150)

Canada just turned 150 this 2017! This year, the government issues free passes to visit Canada’s most amazing destinations. This is one big step for promoting Canada’s tourism.

Along with my blog under the category “travel” , i showcased some of the most jaw dropping destinations that I have gone through. It’s not only the beautiful scenery that I can take photos with but it’s the historical sites that tells untold stories. It’s the people with  different culture  who gather together as a group and contributes to Canada’s cultural diversity.  Continue reading “Show Us Your Pass! (Happy Canada 150)”

Moraine Lake

I used Samsung note 5 for taking this photo and edited it using Adobe Photoshop CS6. I’m still in the process of learning this software. I am not the god of photoshop or anything but let me just share to you what i have learned. 🙂 I added layer of a googled image of milky way, used magnetic lasso tool, erased some part of the original layer, for the mirrored part of the image, i did the same thing but i rotated the googled image which is the”milky way”180° to make it look like a reflection. I adjusted the brightness and voila 🙂

Fill Your Life With Experience

Travel is never a matter of money but of courage.

We were ambivalent in pushing thru this hike because apparently, the weather was not going well. It is a 2-hour drive from the city. We surely packed everything that we needed such as cameras, food and drinks, and of course courage and determination to push thru despite of the bad weather.wp-image-75497160jpg.jpg

These were part of the trails we needed to climb. It is not that steep as it seems.  The Rockpile Trail along the actual lake is approximately 300 meters long. Continue reading “Fill Your Life With Experience”

How Silence Calms our Soul

Spending time alone allows us to develop more meaningful relationships not just with others but within ourselves as well. “To be fully human we need relationships with other people, with the nonhuman world, and with our own inner depths. In solitude we have the opportunity to explore all these domains of relationship” (Kull, 2008, p. 319).
Our brain is wired to connect. People are often drawn to things in related with socialization as if it is a physiological need. Everyday we are preoccupied to socialize to the extent that meaningful relationships and real connection are slowly fading away in the background.

We always keep in touch with others yet we forget to keep in touch with ourselves. In order to have a meaningful relationship with others, we first must have a deeper connection within ourselves. Solitude offers time for us to be emotionally aware of ourselves and our feelings for us to be able to cultivate deeper relationships.

Make a Wish

Some might see it as a weed,

some might see it as a wish.

Whatever it maybe,

it’s up to the person who sees.

Yellow flower resembles the sun,

Blowing it to the wind gives you”fun”!

Puffball resembles the moon, Continue reading “Make a Wish”

The Psychology of Curve Architecture

People’s brain are wired to be attracted more on curves than straight lines.

When people are asked to choose between an object that’s linear and one that’s curved, they prefer the latter.

Curves generally felt beautiful over the linear lines.

Round and curved structure seemed more familiar that they appeared more natural and light.

Just like human’s faces to babies’ rounded eyes that gives warmth and sense of joy.

Curves suggests harmony and peace.

It also suggests flow and continuity.

It makes your eyes glance, it makes your mind dance.

Beef Broccoli Recipe

We were college students when me and my partner went out for our first  movie but we only have enough money for the tickets. He was still courting me then. He was too straightforward to me admitting that he did not have enough money. ( Maybe it’s one of the things i liked the most about him. 🙂 ) I planned to pack a lunchbox for us to eat inside the cinema. I know it sounds crazy but the hell who cares hahaha. It was one of the most embarrassing yet unforgettable experience for us. I knew that beef broccoli is one of his favorite dishes so I tried to cook it for him. The night went well and we had big smiles and laughter after that night. 🙂 Continue reading “Beef Broccoli Recipe”

Perspective

Everybody has their own point of view. Each of us has our own limited perception thus, we cannot know everything. The information that we have might be not sufficient yet we make our own presumptions. Maybe that’s the reason why even though we were all in the same situation, we all believe that our own perception is true. Continue reading “Perspective”
